SEALA Under the Stars

SEALA 2, DAY 4 PART II

Ten countries, three continents, over a dozen languages. Add inexhaustible energy, rich colors, glittering talent. Plus dance, music and song + pride in nation + love of sharing + balmy weather and dinner under the stars = SEALA CULTURAL EXCHANGE EVENING!

In stunning attire reflecting their country's brilliant heritage, the Malaysians exercise a magnetic attraction: everyone wants to take a photo with them!

Serena Hagerty and Andrea look healthy and blooming: they are in the pink!

Sarika and Yumna look tip-top and blossoming: they are in the yellow and blue and magenta and fuschia and turquoise and gold and scarlet...

Pakistani friends treat the audience to the qawwali (sufi music) of Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan. Typical reactions to the music range from exultant to ecstatic  on stage and off.

Mustaches are welcome, but optional.

Rasa Sayange – "[I've Got a] Loving Feeling" – sing the Indonesians.
("So Do We" the audience shouts back...)

David treats us to an exhibition of kung fu, complete with loud grunts, alarming yips, terrifying heps, and bone-chilling wahs...

... all vocalized by Kelvin on a microphone from the sidelines!

Ridzuan introduces the Malaysian dance from Pahang state, Joget Pahang.

Two drops of sunshine: Feldatun and Mei Ching.

Ian's shows off his Pahang moves.

Incredible Malaysia!

Top pays tribute to the farmers of Thailand, and educates us on some traditional Thai ceremonies practiced in rural areas to help make it rain...

... such as the ceremony of praying for rain by finding the most beautiful female cat possible and parading it through the villages in a cage. Hmmm.

Even the MC can't resist the rhythm of a rousing Thai song.

Hot and spicy India!

Indiawaale!

SEALAwaale!

Makrita transports us to the mountains, with a moving dance from her native Armenia.

The Global Gang – facilitators and instructors – have an infectious, musical message: they are HAPPY!
